About Brandon Erickson
I enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1999 and proudly served until 2003. The Army deployed me to Iraq in 2003 for Operation Iraqi Freedom. It was during this deployment that I was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star (with “V” device) for my actions and being severely wounded in combat, which lead to my medical retirement. After completing my rehabilitation at Walter Reed Hospital in D.C., I committed myself to making the most out of my second chance at life. I am still active in many veteran causes, and in 2013 was named the El Dorado County Veteran of the Year.
I received my law degree from the Fowler School of Law at Chapman University. At Chapman, I served on the Advisory Board for the AMVETS Legal Clinic and helped establish the first Veterans’ legal clinic on the West Coast.
My legal experience includes working for the U.S. Space and Missile Command reviewing contracts for the developmental of military satellites; four years as a Prosecutor in El Dorado County; and slowly building my private practice experience to become a well-rounded litigator that is comfortable writing a position paper or advocating in court for a client.
I am first and foremost a litigator. The courtroom is the battleground for attorneys where you have to be prepared and quick on your feet and recognize when you have the higher ground but also recognize when you have a tough battle in front of you. I work directly with clients at every stage of their case. I combine trial skills, negotiation skills and a detailed familiarity with the justice system to develop an effective litigation strategy. I practice in a number of areas such as Employment Law, Education, Real Estate Transactions, Personal Injury, Trust Litigation, Probate and Estate Planning.
I currently reside in El Dorado County with my wife and two young boys. I am an avid outdoorsman that enjoys everything nature has to offer. I support a number of veterans based causes such as Challenged Athletes Foundation’s Operation Rebound, Field of Dreams and Serrano Salute to Valor Golf Tournament.
